mik and i toured labor & delivery at lenox hospital yesterday. there were only 3 pairs there and the other 2 preggers were about to pop! kotlen was soooo right that we'd be with super pregnant people! haha. one woman came with her doula who had too many questions and was so demanding. why do you take the baby away? what if the mom wants to feed? so the dad can go with the baby? why can't the baby be with the mom in the room? for crying out loud, why are you guys delivering in a hospital?!!!!!! we were both so hungry too (and when i'm hungry, it's not pretty). it was interesting to see the labor and recovery rooms and also the nursery. but it's so bright in there! wish they used soothing lighting to make it more homey. guess birthing rooms are like that but those are geared towards natural and easy deliveries. i want a private recovery room so i don't have to share with another mom but they're $400-500 more per night (2-night stay for vaginal births and 4-5 for c-section). they have very strict security there for babies - guess that should be expected. we skipped the last part of the tour because we were starving and i'm sure we'll have to do that again as it gets closer to the due date!
last night i had dinner with chrissy. had planned to tell her since we're going to tobago next week for a dive trip and i definitely cannot absolutely dive!!! would be weird to say that i didn't feel like diving. of course she was very happy for us and said that she had a feeling... she noticed my boobs are bigger and when she asked mik if he was doing the la marathon, we said he'll decide in 2 weeks. we agreed we'd be hanging out a lot because we won't be drinking or going out much - me preggers and her ironman training (gasp!). glad to have told her - another person i can talk to. yay tita chrissy!!!! mik stopped by our dinner for a few minutes on his way home from work. chrissy congratulated dragon senior and asked if i have any cravings. mik said fruits and veggies. :)

feel bad for the tour guide. hasn't that doula been in a hospital before? dear Lord.
glad Chrissy is as excited as I am. now i have someone to talk to about it besides J. can't talk too much to the kiddies. they're not too good at keeping secrets. fortunately they've already forgotten that we told them they're having a cousin. lol
