hearing the dragon's heartbeat
yes, i teared. nothing like hearing that super fast heartbeat loud and clear. it's wonderfully awesome! the dr said it was a strong heartbeat and that now there's only a 3% chance of miscarriage (down from 15%). YAY!!! also our baby is soooo much bigger than the last time we had an ultrasound. crazy how "the little guy" (what mik calls him/her) has grown!
saw dr. dobrenis from cornell today. now we need to compare the two doctors and make a decision - before it's too late to do the nuchal test (11.5 - 13 weeks)!
dr. andrea dobrenis: pros - very friendly and upbeat, very comforting, extremely experienced (20 yrs), better staff, better hospital. cons: 2 male partners, bigger office, talks fast.
dr. jennifer wu: pros - asian, calm, small (more personal) office. cons: not as experienced, not upbeat (but not a downer), only 1 male partner (others are women).
we're leaning towards dr. dobrenis. mik likes both of them so he said we can go with who i prefer taking care of my business down there. haha
dr. dobrenis said my due date is actually march 23rd which makes more sense than march 25th because my LMP was june 16th. so i guess i'm 8 weeks and 3 days today! current symptoms are:
- nipple tenderness/soreness
- breast increase in size (not a cup yet)
- feel bloated (can't suck in my tummy!)
- slight stomach cramps (sometimes)
- frequent urination (1-2x in the middle of the night)
- slight fatigue
- sometimes nauseous when hungry (but not bad!)
- craving for fruits esp. 4-star cherries from freshdirect (sometimes chips)
- irritability/PMS in some mornings or when i'm hungry
