buy buy baby... and buy more

last night we had an appt with a personal shopper at buy buy baby.  nidedra was awesome!  she told us what we need and what we don't need.  she was also very cheery which made the 2 hours tolerable... and that was just for the first floor!  we have another appt with her next week to go over the 2nd floor for the big ticket items - cribs, strollers, etc.  my SVP at work asked me the other day which nursery i'm thinking of getting.  i haven't thought of anything yet!  she recommended stokke which can be expandable so the baby can use it from newborn to 10 yrs old.  haha.

buy buy baby is named appropriately.  there's so much crap to buy - it's unbelievable!  it was overwhelming for sure.  i didn't know infants need toys to play with.  they sleep most of the time!  8-10 diapers per day?  oh geez!  do i really need that many kimonos, onesies, booties, hats, burp blankets and swaddling blankets?!!!  who knew there will be a need to all those bottle and feeding related items....  and that breast pump - it costs as much as a nice purse you would think they'd make it look better.  i opted for the medela freestyle model so i can check my blackberry while i pump at work!  :)

the store is owned by bed bath and beyond so they also take the 20% coupons.  we need to start collecting those (although they don't take expired ones like bb&b and excludes some brands like bugaboo).  buy buy baby will mail us a 10% off coupon to complete our registry 3-5 weeks before my due date.  this coupon doesn't exclude brand items.  i don't even want know how much we're going to spend in the end together with the delivery out-of-pocket costs.  i know i'm complaining a lot here - i'ts just a lot to think about (i haven't even blogged about cord blood bank yet)... but i'm sure the happiness our baby will bring to our life will be worth every single penny!!!
