psychic taxi driver

i was on my way to work this morning and while crossing the street, this taxi driver yelled "you're having a boy!" i told him "i am!" then he yelled it out a couple more times again. uh... weird!

saw dr. dobrenis today. she asked about the amnio and told her i felt a small prick, had slight cramping but was fine by the time i got home. but i still rested for 2 days. told her we're glad we did the test and have a sense of calm and peace of mind. she said if the prelim results are good, it's highly likely that the full results will be fine. she asked if we found out the sex so i told her it's a boy. we laughed about how you can't mistake the baby's wee wee as a 3rd leg or umbilical cord. it's clearly shaped as a wee wee! she also told me my belly is now showing and the boobies look bigger... which means i'll have enough breast milk. :)

we heard the strong heartbeat but no ultrasound today. boohoo. i wanted to see him... she's like "you just saw the baby last week and you'll see him again in 3 weeks." i wish i had my own ultrasound machine so i can see him all the time and find out what he's up to! dr. dobrenis also said the top of my uterus is aligned with my belly button - usually it's 3 inches down - but i have a short torso. the baby is below the belly button and top of my belly is where all my insides (ie intestines) got pushed up to make room for the baby. weird. i've been touching my belly more than usual but usually the top part. ewww. it's not the baby part! she also said i'll feel him kick around 20 weeks (not earlier since it's my first pregnancy). i can't wait for that!!! also told me i can fly until end of january so west coast baby showers should be good over mlk weekend. next appt is in 4 weeks and anatomy ultrasound in 3 weeks! hopefully get a wee wee pic then.

on the gross side, i think i may have to start wearing pantyliners. i hate the idea of it but it's either that or change hanky pankies mid-day!
