happy 2nd trimester birthday

woohoo - happy bday to me!!! when i think back to my favorite bday, i have always thought of my 30th. i had a huge party in tribeca. just moved to new york and a lot of my friends flew in to celebrate with me. open bar, dancing on top of the bar, swigging expensive champagne out of the bottle, ross from friends ended up at my party somehow... good times. but i think my 36th is just as memorable and special in its own way. today is the beginning of my 2nd trimester and this dragon baby is the best bday present. EVER. :) i feel so blessed with this miracle of life... been waiting for today for so long too. we can finally share our great news... except we want to tell mik's parents in person and we're going to see them next week. so lips are sealed til then! :-/

mik work all night until noon today for runway so i busied myself at the salon and spa while he slept. finally got my gray hairs covered (waited until 2nd tri) and got a cut too. then i got waxing, massage, pedi and mani. it was my first prenatal massage. it was good but not great. it wasn't deep tissue and i even asked "i guess more pressure is not good for me?" unfortunately, she said yes. had a really relaxing time regardless. the mani/pedi at bliss spa is top notch. would love to pamper myself like that again if i could afford it! mik took me to pearl oyster for dinner since i was craving lobster rolls. then we went to la lanterna for jazz music and my favorite pumpkin cheesecake.

overall, it was a really wonderful bday. low key but very special nonetheless. thank you baby dragon for spending it with me (not that you have a choice). :)
