6-week postpartum checkup
saw dr. dobrenis last monday for my 6-week postpartum checkup. she said that i'm all healed down there except for minor hemmies. she told me hemmies are genetic so i got it from either my mom or dad! that sucks. :( i'm also still spotting. she hopes it's not my monthly friend bec if it is, then i'm ovulating already! i don't think it is my monthly friend bec i still feel contractions. anyway, i have to see when it stops and if i have more spotting at the same time next month! she wants me to wait to workout til the spotting stops. UGH! i can't wait to get back into physique57 and spinning!!! she recommends yoga but i still have my pelvic pain! she gave me a hi-5 for my easy & smooth labor (i know i still need to blog about it!). WOOHOO! told her the worst part was the hemmies. she said i'm doing better than 90% of new moms at 6 wks. she said i have "good spirit". i think she's saying i don't have postpartum depression....
at 6 weeks, maki is more fussy, gassy, grabby and drooly. we had to bust out the bibs. also still patiently waiting for my first huge toothless smile... hope i see it soon!!! went to see the pediatrician yesterday because maki had a bloody stool again. the first time we saw that, dr. kercher was hoping it was a fissure in his rectum. she gave us antibiotic cream for it. but he's still having bloody stools and more blood this time. so she told me that a lot of babies are dairy/soy intolerant so to eliminate that from my diet for 2 weeks. it's so hard because i like milk! it also has to be strict meaning i can't even eat bread. :( on the upside, i hope it leads to weight loss as well... i was still eating too much carbs/sweets! i've lost 20 lbs and have 20 more to go.
i also noticed i started dreaming again... must be getting used to the lack of sleep. whoa. my sis kaye is also visiting us this week. she has been a huge help with the baby! we talked her into taking over the 3am feeding so mik and i can have uninterrupted sleep. :) YAY!
here are some new pics of maki - he's getting chub chubs! :)
