craving levain cookies
i gave up dairy & soy on april 25th due to maki's sensitivity to them (his poop has a little blood). it's very strict too. i have to look at ingredients of every package and going out to eat has been difficult... most things without dairy have soy! when in restaurants, we have to make sure they waiter understands i have an allergy to dairy and soy and tell the chef to modify the dishes. mik has to be creative when he cooks me food. i can't eat ice cream, most desserts, breads and most of all, i can't eat levain bakery cookies. i don't know how long i can last on this diet! but i do want to breastfeed maki as long as i can... i told mik i'll start storing milk, pump like a crazy woman and try to breastfeed and have enough stored up for at least 6 months. he was ok with that. i'll see how it goes at 6 months... maybe i can go longer? or maybe by then maki has outgrown his sensitivity to dairy/soy? only time will tell. in the meantime, i bought fenugreek seed drops from mother love to boost my milk production. i can't take the capsules because they have soy. i have been taking it for a few days now and i definitely notice an increase in supply. i don't like the taste of the drops though (can't take it with water) so i researched and found nature's way fenugreek seeds - it doesn't have any other ingredients. i bought it and will try that when my drops run out. i wonder if my milk tastes different to maki. he has this weird look on his face right before he takes the boob! ha. i read that fenugreek makes the mom and baby smell like maple syrup... that's not really a bad smell.
no dairy, no soy, smells like maple syrup and pumping like a mad woman - oh the things we do for our children.
here's my first batch of frozen liquid gold. woohoo!!!
