maki's first playdate
last week one of the moms from the new MOMs group emailed me about getting together - i only made it to 2 sessions so i was surprised she even remembered who i was. yesterday we met up for coffee/tea at le pain quotidien on 50th & 2nd (they live on 67th & 1st) so it was kind of halfway for both of us. i was so excited - maki's first playdate - although it was really for me and kat to get together. maki's new girlfriend is clemmie (short for clementine). she is british and 6 days maki's senior. she was born march 5th in cornell hospital too. she weighs about as much as maki - they both wear 6M now. we met at 4:30 and of course the 2 babies were kinda fussy during witch's hour. they were making the same sounds and being fussy together. kat and i were trying hard to put them to sleep by moving the strollers back and forth but no success. good thing there was music playing so other customers couldn't hear their crying. kat and i compared notes about feeding, sleeping, nanny, gym, travel, etc. it was nice to have someone to talk to who can relate. she asked if i wanted to meet up again before i go back to work on the 18th so we'll most likely do another "playdate" next week. yay, maki's first girlfriend. haha. will try to take pics next time.
today i was sitting on the couch with my lil man after he guzzled 7oz of milk (gasp!). we were talking while the nanny was cooking. i noticed that he was being super talkative so i kept talking about whatever came to mind. i told him that even though he was born in new york, he's truly a californian at heart and he LAUGHED. it was the cutest thing ever. how can something sound so amazing and melt my heart?!!! so i kept talking to him about california and he chucked one more time. it made my day. maki is the best baby. EVER. mik told me the other day that he wasn't sure if he wanted another child. i was shocked. he's adamant about having 2 kids. so i asked him why. he said "because he's so perfect." :) we also did a lot of tummy time today and julie and i thought he was going to rollover! what an overachiever, my baby love... julie keeps telling me how good of a baby maki is. she said he's really laid back. he only cries when he needs something. she noticed that parents who are relaxed have relaxed kids and those who are stressed out have stressed out babies. she's 48 now and has been babysitting/nanny since she was 12 so i trust she knows what she's talking about! so hopefully only chill babies for me and mik.
here's a cute video of maki dancing with papa... he loves to dance!
