my little inchworm
maki started inching forward last saturday (videos below) - a couple of days after turning 7 months. of course he was going for the iphone! he got his love for apple products from papa - like me. ;) so proud of my baby!!! i want to laugh when i see him try to crawl. it is lopsided and he looks way too cute with his butt up in the air! he has improved so much within a few days. it's amazing watching him develop his motor skills.
maki started on fruits. he's ok with pears but he really likes apples. we'll start him on bananas tomorrow. peach and mango next week.
today he got his 2nd flu shot (booster). mik and i didn't go to work in the morning and the nanny met us at the dr's office. we were literally in the office for 1 minute - most of which was spent walking to the room and back out. it was super quick. maki didn't cry or flinch... my brave baby!
the last few weeks have been crazy at work. unfortunately, i haven't been able to pump AT ALL at work. hope my milk supply doesn't go back down again. ( i've been launching project after project before the holiday season. mik also launched his big redesign project last week. i've had a few late nights and some early mornings. in addition, i've been stressing out about apt search. it's depressing how expensive 2 bedrooms are in manhattan. i went to see a couple of them and was shocked at how small they were - our 1bdrm now is bigger - and not even in great condition. for that money, one can rent a mansion in CA! plus the idea of paying a broker fee (equivalent to 2 months rent) for showing me a couple of apts just makes me want to throw up. i was ready to give up - we started talking about putting up with our 1bdrm for several more months... but last sunday night, while i was browsing craigslist and pumping, i came across a no-fee upper east side apt that intrigued me. i contacted them first thing on monday and saw the place early afternoon. it's still walking distance from work and the building is great (newly renovated lobby, laundry facilities, elevator, doorman). apt is clean and spacious but not newly renovated. bedroom is a good size. small dining area next to the kitchen. i knew i wouldn't find a better deal without a broker fee so i jumped on it, applied and got approved. we're moving on the 31st! hope we find time for chubby cheeks to go trick-or-treating for his first halloween. we're going to take a look at it tomorrow. take some measurements so we can plan where to place the furniture... hope mik and maki like the new place! *crossing fingers and toes*
