1st bday as a mama

everything seems special as a first time mother...  mother's day was awesome.  my birthday, even though we had a very mellow weekend, was awesome too.  on saturday, mik and maki took me to the museum of natural history.  it was a nice, family outing - maki's first time in a museum!  then mik took me to a wonderful dinner at mas la grillade in west village.  we had a great 3-hr adult conversation over wine (whiskey for mik).  very yuuummmy food...  really enjoyed the romaine salad and loved my dessert (chocolate ice box cake).  i have to stop eating sweets.  it's getting out of hand.  it's like i'm trying to make up for lost time when i was on the dairy-free diet.  we went to bed at 1am - super late!  haha.  on sunday, which is my actual birthday, maki's present to me was sleeping in til 8:15am.  :)  we went to my favorite filipino restaurant for lunch and ate halo-halo.  yay!  then went to church in the afternoon.  very low-key but great weekend....

btw, i talked to angela, our housekeeper, today.  i asked her how she likes my new nanny.  she said she's much better than the 1st one.  she's very clean and the old one was not clean at all.  she was concerned that maki would get some infection from a disease!  omg i knew she wasn't clean but didn't think she was that dirty!!!  anyway, she loves ann-marie.  she said the two nannies are both nice and good with the baby but julie was not clean.  DOH.  i really like that ann-marie treats maki like her own son, something julie didn't really do.  she said she can't get enough of maki during the week!  awwwww
