1st haircut, LA home and swim class

maki finally had his first haircut.  i was almost in tears...  he looks like a little boy now, no longer a baby.  i don't like it!  i mean he looks so handsome but it definitely took away from his baby-ness.  waaaah.  he behaved so well during the haircut, which took ~15 min.  he sat in this nyc taxi (how fitting) and was just watching the lady cut his hair.  we saved some of his hair...  his side curls are gone!  :(

we finally moved into our LA home.  YIPEE!!!!!!!!!!!  renovations took about 2 1/2 weeks.  it's so nice to have our own place and the house looks (almost) new.  the interior of the house was repainted and we got new blinds.  the kitchen and master bath had major renovations done and the other rooms were "enhanced".  we're still getting settled and getting to know our neighborhood (farmers market, grocery store, brunch spots, etc).  here are some before, during and after pics:

kitchen was mostly redone - new cabinets, countertops, appliances, lighting...  but we kept the old floor tiles.

maki's bedroom used to have a hole in the wall covered by a piece of wood.  replaced the shelves, put in new carpet and AC

master bath was completely redone.  the only before shot i have is the bottom left pic .  we put in a new vanity, bath tiles, floor tiles, shower door...  rain shower - yay!

today maki had his first swim class at rose bowl aquatic center in pasadena.  it's 2x/week MW but we missed monday's class because poor baby had a bad reaction to his measles vaccination (will blog about his 12-month checkup later).  he had a fever and a horrible rash all over his body then he also had hives.  the week before that he had a cold, cough and ear infection.  insane!  but he's all better now and in a good mood again.  my happy baby is back!  he absolutely loved loved loved his swim class.  the instructor said the pool is his 2nd home.  he's a water dragon and pisces so it's no wonder he loves the water.  next michael phelps?  haha.  the pool there is so nice.  it's outdoor, heated and if there's chlorine, def not noticeable.  i may want to take classes there too!  ;)
