last day at RL

last day at work today. it was bittersweet but more sweet than bitter. things are a hot mess at RL right now with the new management and the recent reorg. i'm happy to move on - it's not the same company i joined nearly 5 years ago. they gave me a farewell gift - a monogrammed cashmere throw blanket. it's very nice. love it. had my going-away party last night. there's 4 of us leaving this week so we did a joint thing. it was a great turnout despite the rain and i feel loved. :)  one of my coworkers even got us a party photographer as a present.  i will definitely miss some of the people there even though most of my favorite coworkers have left the company.

on the down side, i thought everything was falling into place with the move but i was wrong. apparently, the tenants at the LA house we are moving to haven't found a place yet. it's only a week away from the end of feb.  they keep complaining that they can't find a house they can afford.  of course they can't...  they've been getting that house for a steal for several years.  anyway, it's very frustrating as we made the decision to move at the end of february knowing that we would have our own house.  now that is all up in the air, we may have to evict the tenants which could take a few months...  and definitely not what we signed up for.  i would have preferred to stay in NYC for a couple more months until the tenants have left.  now we have a truckload of furniture with no place to go.  besides, i don't want to keep moving maki.  we just moved to this apt a few months ago and now we're moving him cross country.  putting him in a temporary spot will not be good.  i would rather him adjust at his permanent home and get him comfortable as soon as possible.  i am worried about not liking it in LA and living in a suitcase will not help!  i really hope and pray that the tenants leave or we'll be forced to find an apt to stay in temporarily.  an apt that will most likely cost more than we had planned to pay for the mortgage and as of now, i don't have a job.  not good...  not good at all.  crossing fingers and toes!
