2 short weeks left

as of today, we have 2 weeks left in new york.  actually, only about a week left because we're going on a caribbean vacation for 6 days starting on wednesday.  it's crazy to think that after almost 8 years here, i'm finally getting out.  so many mixed emotions...  will i like LA?  will i miss new york?  will i like the new neighborhood?  when will i get a job?  will i absolutely hate the traffic?  are people there superficial as people say?  will i hate driving again?  will i wish i was back in the hustle and bustle?  will i get bored out of my mind?  will i love it?  will i miss the four seasons in the east coast?  but i guess as long as i'm with my family, i'll be happy.  as long as chubby cheeks likes it, then i'm all for it!  :)

two weeks ago, we told our nanny about our move.  i was in tears.  bawling.  i really really like her and she has become a part of our family.  the way she takes care of maki is priceless - she loves him like her own son....  and she has only been with us for a little over 6 months!  told her to visit us in LA and we'll come back in october for a wedding (she said to drop him off with her).  she said if she wasn't married, she would move with us (she did that before for a family who moved to boston).  that night she cried all the way to the bus stop, looked at his pictures and watched his videos on her iphone.  she said she can't be a nanny anymore because she gets so attached to the kids and it breaks her heart to let them go.  i feel so bad....  she has a big heart and glad she was able to share that with my family.  she will probably go to culinary school.  her dream is to open up a a cafe.  she's so great at taking care of children but i totally get it that it hurts to much when it's finally time to say goodbye.  her last day is the 22nd.  the day after that i told my work.  no tear shed.  i was so happy to give my notice.  my last day is feb 20th.  the day after that the property management approved tenants to take over our lease.  they move in on march 1st.  we move out on the 25th.  everything fell into place that week.  it seems it is meant to be.
