pediatrician interviews
we interviewed a couple of pediatricians this week. both were recommended to us by friends.
on wednesday we met with dr. kathryn snyder from manhattan pediatrics:
pros: location (a block away from work and 6 blocks from home!), more experience than dr. kercher (~5 years), has a male pediatrician in her practice (we would prefer a male dr but maybe not as impt until dragon is older)
cons: doctors not available for emergency appts on sundays, works only 3 days a week, small waiting room
on friday we met with dr. cory kercher from cornell:
pros: practice is open everyday (even weekends), very personable / more likeable than dr. snyder, works 4 days a week and sometimes on the weekend, facility is better, bigger waiting room (can sit far from other children), available over email, my ob/gyn is with cornell too so my records are already in the same system
cons: finished chief residency just last year, need to take a taxi to get there, after 9pm all calls are routed through nurses
the verdict? we like dr. kercher better. she's friendlier and she's with cornell... so that's our decision. you win the care for our baby, dr. kercher! haha
i've had a cold for the past couple of days. i think all the traveling finally caught up to me. didn't go to physique57 class today. wah wah. we also don't have hot water today. waiting to hear back from the super when it will get fixed. cold + no hot water = unhappy, stinky, sick prego.
