the dragon project: maki's 1st xmas party

here's a video of maki's first xmas party: http://animoto.com/play/KFMDCk4ZdB0R0YwWVbWu0Q. babies were the hit of the party. :) maki went to bed late that night... around 8:45pm. then he woke up at 5:30am and was looking around as if he thought the party was still going on!

we have a bunch of gifts for maki from friends/family under the tree. there's one without a name so if you bought him something, let us know! we'll probably have him open them tomorrow or monday before we fly to SF. can't wait to see his face... although he'll probably be a lot more excited about the box or wrapping paper than the gift itself.

maki updates:

maki started on yogurt and glad he has no allergic reaction. was worried about that because of his earlier dairy sensitivity. he has also been eating eggs. we'll start him on cheese next week.
he has two bottom teeth but i think more are coming since he's still slobbering like crazy.
he's such a charmer... there was a table of 4 girls next to us during dinner and he was smiling a lot at them. UH OH.
it has been really cold lately and it's a struggle to get him to wear more clothes especially jackets.
he's also very active now. today it took both me and mik to change his diaper and all 3 of us had butt paste on!
he's drinking less milk now... prefers solids. loves fruits esp steamed, soft chunks. should be ok since the dr said he should drink less than 20oz by his first birthday.
he's constantly sitting up in his crib now and always tries to pull himself up so we lowered the crib again
he still does the combat crawling and doesn't get on his knees/elbows yet but he does it much faster now. it still looks funny. haha
he has almost outgrown his car seat. only 1/2 inch to go and he'll reach the height limit. he's not even near the weight limit!
still babbles a lot (dadada, mamama) but doesn't know what it means yet.
he usually sleeps 8pm-8am now. waking up at 7:30am on the weekends was early! he still takes 3 naps a day. we're waiting to see when he'll outgrow the 3rd nap.
