maui - 1st family vacay

i had the best time in maui with my family.  but i'm not going to lie...  at first, i was thinking to myself that it was hard to take care of maki 24/7.  where's my nanny?!!  how can i go surfing or just go for a swim in the ocean/pool?  don't get me wrong - mik and i were able to spend a few moments on our own (snorkeling hand-in-hand, dinner at roy's, date night movie with his sis, etc).  but for the most part, maki was with us.  and after getting into our groove, i loved every minute of it.  i was in paradise with my family and spending quality time with the people i love.  it was great to spend time with mik's family too.  but more importantly, i felt like maki and i really connected during the trip.  i haven't spent that much time with him since i went back to work and he's at an age where he can interact.  he's so much fun!  we had so many giggling and laughing moments...  it didn't matter that we spent every day at the kiddie pool.  it was all worth it.  mik felt the same way too.  we had an awesome time and were miserable on our first day back at work.  can't wait for our next family vacation - whenever that may be!

here are some pics of us in maui:
