crib traveller

maki keeps moving around in his crib. esp when he's not super tired and trying to soothe himself to sleep.  he will move so much and just "play" in his crib for 5-30 minutes... and there are no toys in his crib!  a few times he goes off to the side and we no longer see him on the monitor.  maybe we need a 2nd camera.  sometimes he's trying to touch his toes or trying to rollover to his belly... and did so successfully.  since wed 8/1, maki has cried in his crib daily because he rolled over to him tummy and couldn't turn over to his back.  he's like a turned over turtle (what i was like pregnant).  haha!  on wed he did this during his morning nap.  yesterday he woke us up at 4:30am and today he did it at 5:30am!  we gave him a few minutes to resolve the issue on his own but he wasn't even trying (even though he has rolled over from tummy to back so many times).  mik had to go into his room and put him on his back each time.  don't know how he rolls over - he's wearing a sleep blanket!   that was the first time he rolled over to his belly that we saw.  julie said she saw him do it a couple of times a while back but she failed to tell me, so i don't believe it completely.

our new nanny started today.  ann-marie is 32 years old.  she has a 14-year old daughter who lives in trinidad with her grandma.  she was the first person we ever interviewed.  EVER.  we really liked her when we interviewed her but we ended up offering the job to the filipino ladies who could cook but both backed out at the last minute.  then we found julie who seemed so great but after spending a day with ann-marie, there are def some things about julie i wouldn't miss at all.  ann-marie doesn't have any children at home so she's open to overtime at night and on the weekends as long as we give her ample notice.  she seems more relaxed than julie (who was a total worry wart) and is more agile.  she's also cleaner, more organized and is tech savvy (she has an iphone so we're all hooked up on babyconnect).  so far so good....  except she has a designer purse & shoes, only drinks bottled water and eats all organic.  whaaaaa?!!!
