the dragon project: frankenstorm

so much hype about this frankenstorm (aka hurricane sandy). i remember when hurricane irene got us stuck in maryland without power and there was barely any rain in midtown. i was still pregnant and i was glad i could protect maki in my belly. now i have to protect him a different way. but i wish he was still in my belly... now we have to worry about his milk, bottles, etc. have to make sure he has plenty to eat in case of a blackout. we have a TON of his frozen meals - hope they don't spoil if the power goes out. we also have oatmeal and brown rice that he will be able to eat.... and lots of formula in case i run out of breast milk. mik and i both stayed home today because our offices are closed. told nanny to stay home and be safe. we stocked up on water, bread and crackers. but hope it's not as bad as what they are saying. i also hope this is all over by wednesday so we can move and maki can go to the his first halloween party.

savory wins over sweet! maki really likes yams, sweet potato, squash, oatmeal... he's not a big fan of fruits esp. banana. he likes oatmeal with apple though. he started eating chicken 3 days ago and he seems to like that. hope he stays this way - like papa - and not get mama's sweet tooth (as i type this, i'm eating a triple choc chip cookie)!

there are days when mik and i race each other to maki's room -- to get him out of the crib after a nap. so great to get him out... he's usually very happy and smiley. he's that way too when we put him down. rarely does he cry whenever we put him to bed. he loves to sleep!

yesterday we visited maki's new buddy jagger who is 10 1/2 weeks. i remember when maki was that small.... *sigh* time flies! can't wait for them to be able to actually play together.
