first full day at daycare

when maki woke up today, i cuddled with him on the couch while he drank his milk. i will miss my baby love. he's going to do his first full day at daycare.  :(  we're doing 2 days this week and hopefully 2 days next week, then full time (mon thru thurs) when we get back from cancun.  mik and i dropped him off a little after 9am.  he was so excited to play that he didn't even want to kiss us goodbye.  he was pushing us away as if we embarrass him!  we stuck around for a bit taking pics and waved goodbye several times - the teachers must have thought we would never leave.  haha.  when we left, maki was enjoying himself in the sandbox.

i was worried that he wouldn't nap.  he only naps in his crib or in the car seat.  napping in a cot with other toddlers around would be a change for him.  also we always read to him before bedtime so he won't have the routine there.  when mik and i came to pick him up, the teachers said he did well but he cried a little.  he was tired and rubbing his eyes.  poor baby is used to 2 naps a day (one at 10am and another at 2pm) and now he's napping once at noon only.  luckily he napped for 2 hours but one of the teachers had to hold him and rock him for a few minutes.  i told the teachers that he's only crying for 2 reasons - tired or hungry.  i don't like to hear that he cried....  breaks my heart.  did he miss mama?!!!  the teachers also noticed some bruises on his forehead but they said he didn't fall.  uh oh...  he didn't have those when we dropped him off!  he may have bumped it and they didn't notice?!!  :(  hopefully he does better tomorrow.

his buddy kaz is there for moral support (teacher said they would cry if they couldn't see each other - so cute!)
