happy 4th... and wedding deets!

happy 4th of july!  we spent the day at mik's sis' house since it was josh' 8th bday.  maki had a great time with the cousins and 2nd cousins.  there was a small inflatable pool, slip and slide, tons of food and poppers/sparklers at night.  i'm surprised he didn't get scared by the poppers!

after all the fun, we dropped him off at grandma and wowo's house.  he's going to the san diego farmhouse with them and the cousins for 3 days.  i held him for a while as he slept...  i'm going to miss my baby love.  this is his 3rd weekend trip to the farmhouse without us and i'm still not used to it.  i actually was a little bit more sad this time.  but the break is good for me and mik so we can have QT together as a couple which i think is essential as well.

speaking of togetherness as a couple, WE GOT MARRIED!!!  it was a very low-key wedding on june 10th at the norwalk registrar's office.  our guests were limited to my mom, my younger sis (who flew in from SF for the day), mik's parents, mik's sis and family and my friend mary (who hooked me up with a wedding dress with a couple of days notice!).  mik's parents gave us their original wedding bands (with hand engravings) and they luckily fit both of us.  i forgot our SLR camera so most of our pics were taken with our phones.  eek!  the ceremony started at 3:30 and took about 15 min then we headed to parker's lighthouse in long beach for an early 5pm dinner.  all in all a great, stress-free day with the family.  we want to have a church wedding in a few years followed by a celebration with family and friends.  maybe 2016 or 2017 when june 10th falls on a friday or saturday.  :)

checking in...  about to get hitched!
... and we're married!!!!

sorry i've been MIA.  being a stay at home mom is tough!  between taking care of maki and aggressively looking for a job/actively interviewing, haven't had much time for anything else these days.  i think i'm close to landing a job so hopefully i can blog more regularly... or maybe i may be too tired.  :(

here are maki's updates:
  • he's ~50th percentile in weight and height
  • he wants his independence and no longer wants to hold my hand when walking and wants to feed himself
  • he walks much better now although he still falls a lot (there was a month or so where he had so many bruises and cuts on his face from falling and we were scared child services would come for us!)
  • he likes to climb on things
  • he's amused by the fan
  • he wants to eat whatever we are eating esp. my fiber one bar!  haha
  • he still loves fruits - all berries, pear, cherries, banana, nectarine, etc
  • he loves to play with his cousins esp kuka josh
  • he likes to hug and kiss mama, papa and his stuffed animals
  • he enjoys waving hello at random strangers even though they aren't looking at him
  • he's losing his focus at mygym and swim classes - doesn't want to do circle time but just wants to play and do his thing!  :(
here are a ton of pics of maki (trying to catch you up!) and a few videos:
