last week, we took maki to zimmer children's museum. i tried to take advantage of my last week as a stay at home mom by taking him places. he really liked it there esp. the water stuff. he LOVES the water. but he got his clothes wet and all i had brought with me was an extra hoodie. :( it's a small museum but it caters to small toddlers which is great. it wasn't overly busy when we went in the afternoon but i heard it's a nightmare during the mornings - lots of school field trips. the following day, maki had a fever. not sure a virus works that fast so it could have been from daycare, playgrounds or other museums - we try to keep him busy! anyway, later that night, maki had a febrile seizure. i'm going to blog about this in detail later. i still get a little teary eyed when i think about it. but if you are a parent and reading this, please read up on febrile seizures. one out of 20 kids under the age of 5 will get it and the best way to deal with it is to be prepared. so please google it right now ("febrile seizure") and what to do in case it does happen to you. i have another friend in my circle who experienced it while they were vacationing in hawaii! it was THE SCARIEST THING i have ever experienced.
